PayPal is a reliable and convenient payment service that helps to easily accept and process payments in your online store. PayPal is available in over 200 countries worldwide<\/a>. If your country is not on the list yet, you can connect another payment service to receive payments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Important: Payment methods are available on Pro and Trial websites.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In order to connect PayPal to your MakeGreatSite, follow these instructions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Getting client ID and secret key<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

  1. Open https:\/\/developer.paypal.com<\/a> and click on the ‘Log into Dashboard’<\/strong> button in the upper right corner;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Move to the ‘Sandbox Accounts’<\/strong> section and click on the ‘Create Account’<\/strong> button to create a developer account;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    3. Move to the ‘My Apps and Credentials’<\/strong> section and \u0438 click on the ‘Create App’<\/strong> button;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    4. Create a name<\/strong> for your PayPal app, select the developer account you created earlier and click on the ‘Create App’<\/strong> button;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    5. Once the app has been created, you will be redirected to a different page, where you’ll be able to get a test client ID and secret key<\/strong> credentials;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    6. In order to get live client ID and secret key credentials<\/strong>, move back to the ‘My Apps & Credentials’<\/strong> section, select the ‘Live mode’<\/strong> and then click on the name of your app<\/strong>, in order to be redirected to the page with the live credentials;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Activating PayPal in your site settings on MakeGreatSite<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    1. Open your site settings<\/strong> and move to the ‘Payment methods’ section<\/strong>;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. Locate PayPal<\/strong> on the list of available payment methods;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    3. Click on the ‘Connect’ button<\/strong> beside the PayPal logo and description text;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

      3. In order to connect PayPal in test mode, first activate the test mode via the switcher<\/strong> (1), then transfer the test client ID<\/strong> (2) and secret key<\/strong> (3) to the relevant fields. Copy the same credentials to the live mode fields<\/strong> (4 and 5) in the ‘Connection’ section;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      4. In order to connect PayPal in live mode, transfer the client ID<\/strong> (4) and secret key<\/strong> (5) credentials to the relevant fields in the ‘Connection’ section. The test mode switcher<\/strong> (1) must be turned off<\/strong>;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      5. Add a link to the page that will be shown to users in case of a successful payment<\/strong> (6) and another link that will redirect to a page in case the payment fails<\/strong> (7). If you haven’t created those pages yet, you can do this by following our guide about adding pages<\/a>. You can also refer to this guide to learn more about creation of a ‘Thank you’ page: Creating a Thank You page<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      6. Add a title of the payment method<\/strong> (8 ) that will be displayed on checkout;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      7. Click on ‘Save’<\/strong> in the upper part of the screen, to apply the changes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      8. Move back to the ‘Payment methods’<\/strong> section and turn on the PayPal switcher<\/strong> under the ‘Connected payment methods’;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

      9.
